DIY or Call Us?

A logic board replacement involves low-voltage wiring, but the opener’s main power feed is 120 volts AC. The board sits near that feed, the capacitor on the board stores charge even after the unit is unplugged, and a short across the wrong two terminals can blow a brand-new board in half a second, or worse. We don’t recommend opening the opener cabinet if you’re not comfortable discharging a capacitor safely. What you can do safely: identify the model and revision number, clean the photo-eye lenses with a dry cloth, and check that no wiring has come loose from the motor unit’s exterior terminals.
